  • LP collecting early Tool material from the period leading into Undertow.
  • Captures the band in the heavy transition between the 1992 Opiate EP and their 1993 full-length debut.
  • Features the original early lineup era with Paul D’Amour on bass, before Justin Chancellor joined in 1995.
  • For fans of: Helmet, Melvins, early Soundgarden, Rollins Band, and anyone who wants the uglier corners of early Tool.

Pre-Undertow Tool, caught near the raw Opiate-to-Undertow jump before Sober pushed the band wider.

Before Tool became a whole ecosystem of sacred geometry, and dudes explaining time signatures in record store checkout lines, they were a mean Los Angeles band with a lot of tension and very little polish. Undertow Outtakes 1992 digs into that early stretch, when the sound was still closer to bruising alt-metal, noise rock, and post-hardcore than the sprawling prog-metal world they would later build. Raw, heavy, and useful for anyone who wants more from the Opiate / Undertow era without pretending this stuff was meant to be tidy.
