Folklore gives Taylor Swift's detailed storytelling a quieter setting of acoustic instruments, soft electronic textures and patiently unfolding melodies. The songs move between different narrators and moments in time, with small images carrying much of their emotional weight. Its restrained arrangements create a shared atmosphere without making the individual voices and stories feel interchangeable.
