Hailing from Austin, Texas, Votive delivers a unique blend of intense heavy music, drawing influence from screamo, black metal, crust, and grind. The band features DIY veterans Eli Deitz (Porcelain), Rohan Lilauwala (Respire), Blake Given (ex-Portrayal of Guilt) and Kyle Rotta (ex-Gas Up Yr Hearse!). Since 2021, they have together sculpted a sound that is at once cathartic, caustic, and crushing.

Following critical acclaim for their debut LP, 2024's Towards the Pillory, their latest offering finds the band at their most unrelenting yet. An Infinite Capacity for Joy features nine blistering tracks built on a foundation of serrated riffs, convulsive off-kilter rhythms, and a gnawing, unbridled desperation punctuated by only brief moments of respite. Producer Phillip Odom (Militarie Gun, Glare, Portrayal of Guilt) deftly captures the band's raw intensity, expanding jagged edges and intricate details into a massive, suffocating heaviness.
