Wiped Out! builds a cool, enveloping sound from reverberating guitars, restrained electronic production and Jesse Rutherford's close vocal delivery. The grooves borrow from R&B while the songs retain a guitar-band core. Its consistent atmosphere lets small changes in texture stand out, giving the album a patient flow through its darker and more vulnerable moments.
