System of a Down “Hypnotize” CD

• System of a Down's 2005 companion album to Mezmerize.
• Includes "Hypnotize," "Lonely Day" and "Holy Mountains."
• Abrupt rhythmic shifts, intertwined vocals and heavy, compact arrangements.

For fans of: Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Serj Tankian

Hypnotize compresses System of a Down's rapid changes of mood into songs that remain unusually memorable. Violent riffs can give way to plaintive melodies or sharply accented vocal exchanges within seconds, yet the transitions feel purposeful. The record's quieter sections make its heavier passages hit harder, while the contrasting voices keep the arrangements restless and unpredictable.
