Stone Temple Pilots “Core” CD

• Stone Temple Pilots' 1992 debut album.
• Produced by Brendan O'Brien.
• Includes Plush, Creep, Sex Type Thing, and Wicked Garden.

For fans of: Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and riff-driven alternative rock.

Core sets Scott Weiland's flexible vocal delivery against the DeLeo brothers' heavy, carefully voiced guitar and bass parts. Its songs have a muscular surface, but strong melodic writing keeps them from becoming one-dimensional. Slow, exposed passages sit alongside hard-driving rock arrangements, establishing the range Stone Temple Pilots would continue to explore.
