The album uses kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, as a guiding idea around damage, repair, and hard-won clarity.
Its nine songs explore different forms of love, including family, friends, and relationships that can both break and restore you.
Sessions were tracked in locations including New Orleans and Los Angeles, with as moody, menacing, gentle, and strange.
Queens of the Stone Age have always remained enduringly, singularly magnetic. It isn't just their sound. It's their spirit. They are provocative in the most essential sense: unafraid to explore the dark, the sexual, the surreal, the absurd. It's art that snarls and seduces in equal measure, and never more so than on the bands ninth album.
