Half Japanese's forthcoming album, Adventure, set for release on July 11, 2025, marks a vibrant evolution in the band's storied career. Led by the ever-optimistic Jad Fair, the album offers a heartwarming collection of upbeat songs that celebrate love, affection, and maturity. Recorded in London at Vacant TV studios and co-produced by Jad Fair and Jason Willett, Adventure presents a more polished and refined sound compared to the band's earlier lo-fi recordings. The addition of Euan Hinshelwood on saxophone, harmonica, and piano enriches the band's sonic palette, providing a smoother backdrop for Jad's poetic lyrics. 

Tracks like "Lemonade Sunset" evoke a sense of wonder and positivity, while "Step On Up" delivers an energetic, piano-driven motif reminiscent of a hyperactive Steely Dan. "Magnificent" stands out as a bittersweet homage to living in the present, blending bright melodies with Jad's uplifting message. The album features contributions from longtime members Jason Willett, Gilles-Vincent Rieder, John Sluggett, and the late Mick Hobbs, serving as a fitting tribute to Hobbs's enduring legacy with the band.
