“For ten years Forn has been leading the dire march of funeral sludge with one amazing recording after another. Two full lengths, a split with Yautja, a few EPs.  While this band has held its’ own in sludge and funeral doom circles, the new LP hints at an evolution. Synths among feedback.  Sparse notes of hope against barren worlds.

Cinematic in nature, the opening track starts with a dark arpeggiator driven industrial -  almost post-punk, with a nod to Skinny Puppy and Godflesh.  Friends of music theory will identify a phrygian dominant scale adding strong middle eastern desert vibes.   I couldn’t pick out a song from the actual Dune soundtrack, but this first track should be on it.   This rest of the album continues in this vein, a dark cinematic scape with chanting, powerful drones and crushing doom.  Forgive the ongoing cinematic references, but here lies a darkness – this is simultaneously Mad Max and Blade Runner, but without a hero. “  - Josh.

Repercussions of the Self, FÓRN's first new musical creation since 2018, bursts through the speakers with god-tier grandeur, mixing the downtuned guitar-driven sludge epics the band is known for, with a new, industrial, electronic dimension.

The album features Lane Shi Otayonii on vocals and electronics across all its six tracks. A past collaborator, Otayonii makes her debut here as a full-fledged contributing member of FÓRN. The album also features guest contributions from vocalist Orion Peter and drummer Josh Brettell of Baltimore's Ilsa.

Repercussions of the Self was engineered and mixed by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations in Baltimore, Maryland and mastered by James Plotkin at Plotkinworks. The artwork is a collaboration between Alexander L. Brown and Devin Toye.

Vinyl comes packaged in a full color jacket with a printed inner sleeve.
