David Bowie "Ziggy's Last Stand: London Marquee Broadcast 1973" 2xLP
ParachuteDespite the majority of fans still believing that David Bowie’s performance at the Hammersmith Odeon on July 3rd 1973 was the last time his Ziggy Stardust persona was witnessed, in truth one further show took place in London, at the famous Marquee Club in Wardour Street, in which Bowie once more played as the androgynous space alien.
Admission to the gig was by invitation only and those who attended included 200 democratically selected members of the newly-formed International David Bowie Fan Club, rock luminaries, staff and patrons of the Marquee and selected musical press - all keen on seeing Ziggy rise from the grave to perform one last time.
This 2LP set features the entire broadcast on vinyl for the first time with, alongside Bowie and the Spiders, The Troggs, Marianne Faithful, and the little-known Carmen, a Brit/American ‘flamenco/rock’ ensemble, rarely heard of since.
