• Chapterhouse was a British band that eventually became part of the burgeoning shoegaze scene along with bands such as Lush, Ride and Slowdive.
• Between 1987 and 1994, they only released two albums of which Whirlpool was their debut.
• Unlike their counterparts, Chapterhouse heavily employed structures borrowed from electronic music, creating heavy, yet strangely uplifting grooves.
