In October 1996, Neil and Pegi Young’s Bridge School Benefit concert series was 10 years old, having kicked off a decade earlier in ‘86. At “Bridge X”, as the ‘96 event was known, the all-star line-up included, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Pearl Jam, Billy Idol, Patti Smith, Pete Townshend, Bonnie Raitt and Cowboy Junkies. David Bowie also performed, playing acoustic sets on both days of the benefit gig - October 19th & 20th - alongside regular ‘90s band members Reeves Gabrels and Gail Ann Dorsey. Performing a stellar selection from the DB back catalogue, with an impromptu version of the Coasters’ ‘I’m A Hog For You Baby’ thrown in too for good measure, all played acoustically by Bowie (his team had a few volts passing through their respective bass and guitar), this rare recording is now available on this amazing clear vinyl!
