Billy Bond & La Pesada del Rock & Roll "Vol. 2" LP

• The Argentine collective's second album originally appeared on Music Hall in 1972.
• Pushes its mix of blues, rock and roll, and psychedelia toward a heavier sound.
• Includes "La Pálida Ciudad," "La Maldita Máquina," and the provocative "La Marcha de San Lorenzo."

For fans of: Pappo's Blues, early Argentine hard rock, and heavy psychedelic blues.

Vol. 2 channels La Pesada's loose collective spirit into a forceful set of hard rock and blues. Billy Bond and company keep the music playful and rough-edged, letting heavy guitar work sit alongside swaggering rhythms and a distinctly Argentine sense of humor. The performances carry the unruly energy that made the group central to its scene.

The band's adaptation of "La Marcha de San Lorenzo" brought government censorship, underscoring the record's willingness to provoke. Beat Generation's licensed reissue, developed in cooperation with Argentina's INAMU, restores an important chapter of the Music Hall catalog in a gatefold package with historical notes and photographs.
