Collection: Mississippi Records

Mississippi Records is an independent record label and store founded by Eric Isaacson in 2003 in Portland, Oregon, known for releasing obscure, archival, and "discarded" music on vinyl and cassette. Dedicated to ethical reissues, the label bypasses unfair contracts, often finding artists or their families to ensure they benefit.

The label works to secure rights for artists and families rather than buying master rights, focusing on music created outside the commercial mainstream, including African music, blues, gospel, and punk.  Founded in Portland, Oregon, it has grown into a renowned, non-corporate institution that often operates with a minimal online presence, focusing on community and physical records. Described as "loving the forgotten," focusing on "the cheap and beautiful" with a, DIY, anti-corporate, "Love Over Gold" ethos.
