Gloin start off All of your anger is actually shame (and I bet that makes you angry) with a nifty industrial backbeat, introducing a new sonic palette, in turn embracing their penchant for highly-saturated tones and synthetic textures, while retaining their signature electric sound over 12 relentless tracks. Throughout the album, manic yet endearing vocals depict a shared struggle via clever if mercurial songwriting, the four-piece slashing through anxiety and gloom with noisy pop songs delivered in the most brazen, harsh and loud of ways.

The title for Gloin’s sophomore full-length is, in itself, quite loaded, brashly setting the tone for an intense listening. Ironically though, the album is actually a vibrant, uplifting listen packed with high-energy bangers that drip with gritty satire. Past a fierce facade, we are treated to a deeply emotional and strikingly energizing lyrical universe that does well to balance healthy paranoia and asserted commentary. Whether digging into childhood trauma, shame or self-doubt, questioning the daily grind, public standards and tech/electronics, or more broadly pondering about existence itself, the album ends up feeling much like a brutal but most-welcomed therapeutic musical onslaught.

Over 35 minutes, Gloin aptly establish a wide spectrum of angular post-punk music by offloading frenzied scorchers and catchy earworms alike. Scheduled for March 28th, 2025, and marking the 50th release to don the Mothland griffe, All of your anger is actually shame (and I bet that makes you angry) should please fans of Gilla Band, FACS, Chat Pile, Model/Actriz, or The Psychotic Monks.
