This album is a compilation of live performances by jazz pianist Shigeaki Sai, backed by the Mitsuyoshi Azuma Trio, from 2000 to 2005. This album is composed like a live performance of one night. You will be captivated by the chic and sweet piano, just like the soundtrack of the movie. (Excerpt from the liner notes by Masayuki Kawakatsu)
Shigeaki Sai (piano), Mitsuyoshi Azuma (chorus, guitar), Yutaka Maki (bass), Akebono Okachi (drums)

Shigeaki Sai: Born in Kobe in 1932. After entering the University of Tokyo, he immediately joined the "Jazz Research Group." At the time, there was such a jazz boom that the Tokyo Big Six Jazz League was held. They performed for the occupying forces, and sometimes even performed live featuring the teenage Matsuo Kazuko. He then joined a trading company as a new graduate and was assigned to New York from 1964 to 1977. Sai's experience of the Sense of Freedom movement in the late 1960s had a major impact on his subsequent career as a jazz musician. He retired in 1993. He began holding sessions once a year, or at most twice, with his nephew, bluesman Mitsuyoshi Azuma, and his trio. This record is a fascinating live album that records five years' worth of sessions, making it sound like a single night's session.
